He was transported from Bharuch to Ahmedabad, where a dedicated team embarked on a comprehensive assessment of his condition. Through a battery of tests, including bloodwork, x-rays, and MRIs, they painstakingly ruled out infections and growth concerns. These tests revealed a daunting revelation: Keshto was battling a life-threatening tick fever, a condition that was swiftly treated. Additionally, he was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes due to prior steroid administration at a tender age, prompting the team to craft a specialized diet to manage his newfound condition.
From day one, Keshto was placed in foster care, a loving environment that catered to his unique needs. The expert team of veterinarians finally identified his ailment as cerebral hypoplasia, a neurological disorder that impaired his motor function. His brain struggled to transmit the right signals for movement, but hope was on the horizon.
Keshto received intensive training to communicate his needs, notably for urination and defecation. Months of foster care allowed his caregivers to intimately understand him and map out his future. A specially designed harness was acquired, enabling him to be carried around with ease. Hydrotherapy sessions were introduced to maintain the health of his joints. Drawing inspiration from overseas experiences, a custom mobility cart was envisioned to improve Keshto’s quality of life.
